Altar Servers are an integral part of the mass. As the Altar Server assists during the Liturgies of the Word and Eucharist, their duties create a tone of reverence for each liturgy for the congregation to follow. Holding the candles during Proclamation of the Gospel, for example, signifies the presence of God in the Word, while the ringing of the bells during the consecration, signifies God’s presence in the Eucharist.
A child or youth who has received First Communion can become an Altar Server, and will receive training. Altar Servers serve masses based upon their availability. Anyone wishing to become an Altar Server can contact Fr. Luigi or the Rectory.
