Mission: St. Anthony’s Church Youth Group, a.k.a. Best Youth on Hills,
promotes development in our youth in 3 big S’s—Spiritual, Service, Social.
Spiritually the youth grow in their faith as they learn about what it means to be Catholic. There are opportunities for the youth to pray together, participate in the liturgy, through monthly youth masses, Stations of the Cross, etc.
Opportunities are organized for out youth to engage in Service both in our parish and community. Each year, the youth group organizes the Advent Giving Tree for local children in need; the Memorial Poinsettia display at Christmas, and the chocolate sale for Children helping Children, an organization that supports children in underdeveloped countries.
Socially, the youth group helps our youth build friendships, and develop confidence in their social ability.
Times of Meetings: The youth group meets 2 Sunday evenings per month from 7:00—8:30 usually at St. Anthony’s Church, between September and June.
Activities:
Meetings typically include activities aimed at learning about our faith, providing information about upcoming youth group activities and socialization. Some events occur in the community such as bowling, volunteering at a soup kitchen or Christmas caroling.
By volunteering at youth group events, youth are able to collect Community Involvement hours required for their high school graduation. The Best Youth welcomes youth grade 7 and up.
